Ukraine seeks to increase the volume of trade with Latvia, in particular, in the framework of the Association Agreement with the European Union. This was stated by Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration Ivanna klympush-Tsintsadze during a meeting with Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia Arturs Krisjanis Karins in Riga.
She recalled that according to the export strategy of Ukraine for the years 2017-2021, Latvia identified a promising market for domestic exports (among EU countries). In 2018, the volume of Ukrainian-Latvian trade in goods and services increased by 18.5% and amounted to more than half a billion dollars. However, the potential of trade-economic cooperation between our countries much more convinced Ivanna klympush-Tsintsadze.
“There are more than 1,200 companies with Ukrainian capital operating in various sectors of the Latvian economy with more than 72 million U.S. dollars investment in fixed assets. Latvia has also invested more than 40 million US dollars to Ukraine. We would like to expand this cooperation “, – said the official.
