The parliamentary Committee on national security has supported the actions of the Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko in terms of asset tracing environment ex-the President Victor Yanukovych and their confiscation.
The decision was taken at the meeting of January 17, announced the head of the Committee Serhiy Pashinsky.
In addition, the Committee decided to call the head of the Specialized anti-corruption Prosecutor’s office of Nazar Golodnitsky and Director of the National anti-corruption Bureau of Artem Sytnik to come to the Committee and to provide information on the fact “the opening of criminal proceedings regarding illegal enumeration confiscated $ 1.5 billion in the state budget.”
Pashinsky expressed outrage at the fact of opening of the said proceedings regarding the Bank. Committee member Tatiana Chornovil, in turn, even suggested the public Prosecutor to initiate criminal proceedings against members of the NAB, stating that the Bureau “is included in the criminal scheme of counteraction of special confiscation”.
Lutsenko, in turn, said this: “I reject the accusation of NAB as participants in the criminal scheme… Exclude that the fact of registration of production of NABOO is somehow guilty. Another question: what will happen next.”
The attorney General expressed confidence that the leaders of NABOO and SAP in the near future will be “a legal decision in favor of the Ukrainian state.”
At the same time, Lutsenko expressed surprise that “people who did everything possible to have the stolen funds returned to the budget, are subject to criminal prosecution”.
“Honestly, it’s kind of looking glass,” – said the head of the GPU.
Also Lutsenko is indignant that social activists, “dear people that are questioning the feasibility of the enumeration of special confiscation”.
