Poroshenko has signed the law on the state budget

 

President Petro Poroshenko has signed the law “On State budget of Ukraine for 2017”.

 

As the press service of the President on Monday, Poroshenko also signed a law “About increase of the salary costs of employees of the state mining enterprises”, “On amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine” on increasing the minimum wage to 3 thousand 200 UAH, “On amendments to the Budget code”.

The head of state stressed that the government of Ukraine in the current year timely filed the draft state budget to the Verkhovna Rada.

Poroshenko reminded that the budget in a timely manner and details were discussed at the meeting of the Council in terms of expenditures on the sector of defense and security of the country. He also emphasized that these costs amount to 5.2% of GDP, and noted that in the first place, “these costs are concentrated on the financing of the Armed forces of Ukraine.

The President also noted that government, President, Prime Minister and Parliament have together taken revolutionary steps, the unprecedented strengthening of the protection of working people, – raised the minimum wage to 3 thousand 200 UAH.

As reported, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the budget for 2017 in the night of 21 December 2016. The bill was supported by 274 MPs.

As noted by the Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman, the Cabinet of Ministers worked closely with the Parliament in the preparation of the state budget.
