The legislation of the Republic of Moldova provides that public institutions should be hung with other flags except for the state. Commented the President of Moldova Igor Dodon removal from his residence flag of the European Union.
“The law says that can be a flag of the EU. But we are a member country of the CIS. Why did the building not hanging the flag? We are part of the UN. Why this flag is also not? Therefore, the building of the presidency will, as a matter of law, be required to hang the flag of the Republic of Moldova, and only he,” – said Dodon.
He also stressed that has nothing against the EU and the partnership will continue.
“I met with the EU ambassadors accredited in Chisinau, and agreed that once a month we meet to discuss current problems. Second official visit after Moscow I’ll do in Brussels. Therefore, relations remain good and will continue to grow”, added Dodon.
Previously the residence of the President of Moldova on the left hung the flag of the Republic, and to the right is the flag of the European Union. Recently, there were only a Moldavian flag.
