Trump Feels Wrath of LGBTQ Protesters, Walk of Fame Star Defaced (VIDEO)

Pissed Off LGBTQ Marchers Protested the Trump Administration and Plastered his Walk of Fame Star With Resistance Stickers

Sunday was a day of LGBTQ parades from coast-to-coast, and this year, the events were particularly political as they also served as resistance marches against the Trump administration.

In fact, one of the prominent chants that could be heard during marches was, “We’re here, we’re queer, get that Cheeto out of here!” One can easily figure out that anger was focused on Trump and not on the tasty snack items.

As Fox News reports (yes, that Fox News) LGBTQ marchers taking part in the “Equality March for Unity and Pride” in Washington and sister marches across the country have good reason to be angry. After all, Trump has surrounded himself with homophobic bigots like VP Mike Pence, Jeff Sessions and Tom Price, the Human Services Secretary. This is despite the fact that Trump advertised himself as an LGBTQ-friendly candidate after the Pulse nightclub massacre in Orlando, Florida.

LGBTQ Nation points out that Pence alone has a long history of trying to screw over the LGBTQ community, including being against repealing “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” having the brilliant idea of taking money designated for HIV prevention to sink into conversion therapy programs, and even going as far as to sign a bill that proposed to jail same-sex couples wanting to get married.

And this was one reason that, as CNN reports, the LGBTQ group Log Cabin Republicans refused to endorse Trump in the run-up to the 2016 election.

“As Mr. Trump spoke positively about the LGBT community in the United States, he concurrently surrounded himself with senior advisers with a record of opposing LGBT equality, and committed himself to supporting legislation such as the so-called ‘First Amendment Defense Act’ that Log Cabin Republicans opposes.”

Another bone of contention is the fact that the Trump administration decided to scrap President Obama’s directive to schools across America that they had to allow transgender students to use bathrooms and locker rooms that correspond with the gender they identify with, according to the Toronto Star.

So, the LGBTQ community has a right to be angry and concerned with the Trump administration and the frustration was clearly evident across the nation on Sunday.

Out , which highlighted the Los Angeles Resist March, summed up the mood quite perfectly, looking at the protests/parades as a return to the grass roots of how Pride events began in the first place.

“#ResistMarch serves as a reminder that Pride began as a riot—an explosion of anger at the status quo and a refusal to be quiet. Marches like this prove that queer anger, solidarity and power are as potent and powerful as ever.”

And, During the march in Los Angeles, Trump’s star on the Walk of Fame ended up getting a wee bit of an overhaul (once again) being plastered with anti-Trump, pro-resistance, pro-LGBTQ stickers in a symbolic “F*** You!” to Trump for putting the LGBTQ community in the bind he has. This could go down as being one of the most potent symbol of resistance against Trump from the day. It does look a lot nicer with the enhancements, no?
